This is one of the Rokugo Sanzan Temples that is said to open during the Yoro Period (717-723). It is located in the middle of Ogisan of Musashi-cho, Kunisaki city, and it has a deep relation with the nearby Tsubaki Hachimangu Shrine. This place has been burned down repeatedly. On the other hand, this place was a gathering place of generations of Kizuki lordship and influential local people, and until around the Meiji period, Shujooni-e rituals were held every other year on the 5th day of the Chinese New Year, alternating with a nearby temple in Kitsuki City.
