Among the "Rokugo Sanji-in" where the ancient Tendai sects of the Kunisaki Peninsula used to gather, Sentoji has many Matsuji and Matsubo buildings, and it seems that it was also known as "Koyasan in the west". However, most of its buildings were destroyed after being burned by Otomo Sorin during the Warring States period. They were renovated in during the Bunroku Period (1592-1596) but unfortunately could not regain its past prosperity. Currently, a pair of Nio statues stand at the site of the temple ruin. Also, in Okunoin, there is a statue of the one-thousand-arm Buddha.
